From The Couch – Epic Fantasy Football Punishment/Kyle Busch Strange Death/Ice Skating In The Hood/Target Is Back/Who Needs HR?/Tulsi Gabbard Resigns

Here is your news of note for May 22nd, 2026….

JM: A new trend in the world of fantasy football is that the guy or gal who finishes in last place must serve a humiliating punishment. This one is pretty good. I wish we had thought of this in my younger days of playing fantasy football. Maybe the slackers who quit halfway through the season would be motivated to keep playing.

JM: Wanna go ice skating down at the 18th and Vine district in Kansas City? Me, either. Pouring 1.7 million into that area seems a bit excessive. Hope it is a success, but I don’t see it. Maybe they should move that dumb Ferris wheel down there, too.

JM: Sales are up 5.6% at Target since they went back to doing what they did best, “by focusing on categories where it lost market share, especially home goods and clothing, with 75% of decorative home accessories set to be new this year.” Guess all the DEI and woke stuff didn’t work for them. Shocker.

JM: Having a lot of corporate experience, I don’t doubt for one minute that this guy’s HR department created non-existent problems. Sounds familiar. Good for him.

JM: There have been rumors that Tulsi Gabbard wasn’t in full agreement with going to war with Iran, so I figured her resignation might be coming. It turns out the war had nothing to do with her resignation. I hope everything turns out well for her husband, but it doesn’t sound very good.

JM: The death of Kyle Busch is an odd story. He complained of sinus issues and illness during his last race, just a week and a half ago, and requested to see a doctor after the race. Then he gets in a racing simulator, and something tragic happens. For this to happen at the age of 41 is almost unbelievable. RIP, Mr. Busch.
