Your news for Memorial Day, 2026….

JM: I try to watch this ceremony every Memorial Day while a lot of people are getting their lake houses ready for the summer. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a very somber place that everyone should experience.

JM: What the heck is wrong with people? A brawl at a Kindergarten graduation ceremony? Good grief.

JM: The Indianapolis 500 is an event that I try to watch every year. This year’s race did not disappoint, from the Blackhawk helicopter escort to the Kurt Busch tribute to the fantastic finish that was the closest in history. If you missed it, check out the finish….

JM: Second place finisher David Malukas broke down in an interview after the race. He thought he had it won until the final seconds….

JM: Congratulations to Felix Rosenqvist, the winner of the race.

JM: In news that was almost buried in other “stuff” this weekend, another crazy person tried to shoot his way into the White House. Of course, the Secret Service took care of him quickly. The shooting prompted this great headline from the Babylon Bee.

JM: Pretty sad state of affairs in our country right now.

JM: I know many people who know this priest personally and gave money to that church. We don’t have all of the details yet, but this is yet another shameful news item to hit the Catholic church.

JM: The list of Republicans running for Governor in Kansas this fall is very long, but it might not be for long. President Trump’s endorsement of Ty Masterson surprised me. I figured ex-Governor Jeff Colyer was the frontrunner and likely winner of the primary. Especially since Colyer is running ads with a Trump sound clip from many years ago saying how great a Governor that Colyer is. Buckle up. This just got interesting.

JM: Stephen Colbert’s audience was 12 percent of what Johnny Carson’s was for his last show. Only 6.74 million people watched. The population of the United States is 345 million. Colbert wasn’t popular amongst the masses, but the crazies on the left pushed him as some kind of hero of their cause. The truth is, nobody cares about him. Good riddance.
