From The Couch – Harp Barbecue Closing And Much More

It sucked to hear the news today that Harp Barbecue is closing its doors this Saturday. I first discovered Harp and Tyler when he was cooking at Crane Brewing in Raytown. In my opinion, Tyler cooked the third-best brisket in Kansas City, behind Tin Kitchen and Scott’s Kitchen. Here is a picture of Tyler and me when I visited during my Kansas City barbecue quest.

“The biggest problem that I see is that four companies own 86 percent of the beef in America,” he said. “Things get monopolized on that level. The price goes up. And of course, these companies are recording record profits, while you, me, and the mom of three can barely afford groceries.”…Tyler Harp, Harp Barbecue

JM: Tyler is definitely right about beef prices being out of control, but others have navigated their way around the problem. I think part of his problem is location. No restaurant has ever survived long at the corner and strip mall where it is. I hope he can find a way to continue making great barbecue for the public.

JM: I am pretty sure that everyone in America thought that Joe Biden was having a stroke during the debate with Donald Trump. Only Jill told a room full of people after the debate how great she thought he did as she talked to him like a Kindergartner.

JM: What a phony. Who is the real liar, Jill?

JM: This headline could have said “Vehicle” instead of “Truck,” and I would have guessed that it was a pickup truck driver. Probably the same type of guy that screams down the fast lane on the highway in snow and ice and then causes a huge wreck.

JM: So Dart was asked to introduce President Trump during a speaking engagement, a great honor that anyone should jump at, and some of his teammates were so triggered by it that they had to have a team meeting so he could explain himself? No wonder the Giants suck at football.

JM: This meme is perfect. Jaxson Dart’s teammates were triggered that he introduced President Trump. The media jumped all over the story. Meanwhile, Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested on Tuesday for domestic battery and strangling his girlfriend. Did the media give both events the same amount of coverage? Not even close. Did the Packers have a team meeting? Nope.

JM: President Trump has always been a Knicks fan. Who knew? Apparently, a lot of people.

JM: Trump sat next to Howard Stern at a Knicks game in 2010? Someone should show that to Howard. Regardless of his fandom, New York Governor Kathy Hochul tried to question his fandom and it completely backfired on her…

JM: What a moron.

JM: Darn it, I’ll be in Vegas for a wedding that day. Someone, please report back to me how this event goes.
