From The Couch – Firefighters Rescue Dog In Corpus Christi Bay

A dog was spotted swimming away from shore in Corpus Christi Bay yesterday. A Corpus Christi firefighter grabbed a paddleboard and paddled out to the dog to rescue it….

JM: Kudos to this firefighter! Quite the hero!

JM: Former K-State basketball coach Frank Martin remains one of my favorite people. He was pouting on the bench and didn’t notice that K-State’s best player had fouled out of the game. That is a classic and hilarious story. It is also a nice touch that Bob Huggins kissed him on the forehead in recognition of his actions.

JM: KISS frontman Gene Simmons might be my second-favorite person behind Frank Martin. If you don’t know his story, it’s worth looking up and studying. His mother survived the holocaust and moved the family to the United States. They were very poor, but thankful for the freedom that America provided. Gene is an excellent example of living the American Dream.

JM: “I wonder whatever happened to Ricky Schroder?” Well, that question was answered, kind of, when I saw this video yesterday. The whole situation he mentions about Candace Owens is spot on. Owens has gone full cuckoo bird conspiracy theorist. I think there’s something seriously wrong with her. Since he tagged her in his post, I clicked over to her profile to see that she has 7.8 MILLION followers. I wonder what percentage of those are haters?

JM: 12 straight hits by a major league player is quite a feat. He would have broken the record and made contact in his final at-bat, but hit a fly ball to the outfield.

JM: We may never again in our lifetimes see someone with consecutive five-hit games.

JM: The Mets announcers called this a “little league home run” because you would normally only see this in Little League Baseball. Three egregious errors on one play while giving up three runs? When I saw it live, I said, “Oh my God” just like the Mets announcer did. The Royals are an easy target to make fun of, especially this year, but they did end up winning the game 16-12. They beat the Phillies 15-1 on Monday. 31 runs in two games. Does that mean they’re going to score 17 tonight? Is there somewhere I can bet that?

JM: I knew the ceasefire with Iran wouldn’t last long. I hope they finish the job for good this time.
