JM: What was the ad about? I seriously have no idea. Didn’t hear what the product was. Guess I was too distracted. I’ll watch it again. In the meantime, plenty of women around the world are irate about it.
JM: Sydney Sweeney responded by posting pictures of ads of many, many athletes in the past that have done nude photo shoots.
JM: I don’t really understand the outrage. As always, sex sells. Always has. I believe Sweeney and the company, Novig, know exactly what they’re doing here.
In other news, in a scene that might make the satirical creators of the television show “South Park” blush, staffers of Senator Mitch McConnell wheeled him out of his home into a vehicle yesterday, presumably to travel to Capitol Hill to submit a vote on a federal judge…
JM: You remember the movie “Weekend At Bernie’s?” The dark comedy where two young insurance employees visit their boss’s beach house only to find him dead, forcing them into a wild weekend of pretending he’s alive to avoid suspicion and enjoy their getaway? That’s what this fiasco with Mitch McConnell reminds me of.
JM: McConnell stared into nothingness with a grin on his face like he had no idea where he was, who he was, or what he was doing. This guy has been incapacitated for months now and refuses to resign his office to allow someone competent to take his place. Since he won’t resign, every one of the 99 other Senators should demand his removal one way or another. He is clearly unable to perform his duties. The United States Senate is a joke. There should be something in place that allows for a replacement Senator when one is unable to perform their duties for whatever reason. Instead, they are carting around a vegetable who refuses to give up his job. This is unacceptable. Or at least is SHOULD be.
JM: Let’s call this what it is…”Weekend at McConnell’s.”
JM: The Kansas City Chiefs looked great on Monday Night Football, beating the Denver Broncos 31-10. Travis Kelce had a big catch and gain, moving into second place on the all-time receiving yardage list for tight ends. So the Chiefs have had the best two tight ends in the history of the NFL. That’s pretty neat. Has any other franchise had the two best players at any position in the history of the league? Maybe the Bears with running backs Gale Sayers and Walter Payton? That would be a subjective opinion, but an interesting discussion to have.
