Remember in action movies when the good guy cop would commandeer a person’s vehicle in pursuit of a suspect? It happened recently in Houston when two female police officers were in pursuit of a man on foot when they jumped in the car of an Uber driver and demanded he help them.
JM: Anthony Baines, the Uber driver, said the whole interaction “caught me completely off guard. I’ve never had anything like that happen driving. I was surprised but just did what the officer asked in the moment.”
Glad he found the humor in the incident. For some reason, this reminded me of John Candy’s character in “Armed and Dangerous” doing something similar.
JM: “Well hop on in here, Slim” gets me every time!
JM: The second celebrity death in two days, both dying at the age of 80. Tim Curry was in many movies and television shows, but I most remember him from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which I wrote about a while back. RIP.
JM: Peachy’s post is in response to all the crazy ladies on social media posting in support of Lindsay Clancy, the woman who brutally murdered her three young children. Luckily, most of the women I know do not feel the same way these women do. Don’t worry, be happy, I say.
JM: This is a strange story. The kid walked up to the wrong house, and it seems like he was trying to contact his friends to figure out where they were when the cops showed up. What could have happened that the police would justify shooting and killing him? I hope they get to the bottom of this one.
JM: I have been to this Harpo’s in Columbia, Missouri, many times, where this incident happened. Apparently, security told him to get off the railing on the rooftop bar a few minutes before he fell. I hope he is ok. This seems like a tragic and preventable accident.
JM: The question I have is, what does the employee in question look like? Was this an honest mistake by the customer? Could he not tell it was a woman, or was the customer making a point by calling him “sir” when he was clearly dressed up as a female? Either way, the Best Buy manager should have sold the guy the laptop instead of making a scene and refusing to do it. My second question is, who buys a laptop at Best Buy anymore?
JM: A parallel parking competition? Who knew there was such a thing? I might do pretty well in this, but I’m guessing many people would not. What say you?
