From The Couch – Tesla and Elon Musk Unveil New Roadster

Did you see the video clips of Elon Musk and Tesla unveiling their new Roadster vehicle? This thing makes the Delorean from “Back To The Future” look like a dinosaur.

JM: Uh, what?

JM: Wait, there’s more…

JM: So this thing can accelerate and use jet propulsion to jump a semi and row of cars while twisting in the air? Who needs the General Lee? Would you get in one of these? I wouldn’t. What happens if the technology stops working all of a sudden? Looks to me like you’d be dead.

The weird thing about hearing this news is that I was just thinking the other day that there hasn’t been a school shooting in a while and what a positive development that was. So much for that. A 16-year-old boy, Griffin J. John II, gained entrance to the school with a long gun by shooting through locked doors and shot up a special needs classroom. The shooter was an ex-special needs student at the school.

According to NBCNews…

“At 12:58 p.m. PT yesterday, two vehicles were traveling near Silver Rail Elementary, he said. At that time the suspect approached a fence area of the school from an undeveloped area, crossed the street, threw his weapon over the fence, then climbed the fence onto the school property, Krantz said.

A driver of a red Toyota pickup saw the suspect and“verbally confronted him,” the chief said. The suspect then fired at the pickup, hitting it at least three times.

The driver eventually kept driving and made the initial 911 call.

The driver of a second vehicle — a 36-year-old man whose children attend the school — witnessed the shooting involving the pickup. That man then drove into the school’s parking lot as the suspect was walking along the south side of the school and broke in.

The 36-year-old man parked his car, took out a 40-caliber pistol that he had “legally secured in his vehicle,” and went toward the school, Krantz said.

He heard the shooting and saw a teacher involved in a physical altercation with the suspect. He then entered the classroom and fired his weapon, “striking the suspect multiple times.”

The man who shot and killed the shooter is the father of two girls who attend the school. He was on his way home from work for lunch when the incident occured.

JM: Thank God Kalub was there and armed. Who knows how many lives he saved.

JM: This first-grade teacher left the school around 11:00 to go on a booze run and when she got back to the school she locked herself in the bathroom and wouldn’t come out. I mean, I’ve heard of middle school teachers wanting to do this, but not elementary school teachers. What happened during the day that she felt the need to go on a vodka run? Probably alcoholism.

JM: Next to the definition of Trump Derangement Syndrome in the dictionary, you will likely see a photo of Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey. That gave me an idea. ChatGPT, do your thing…

JM: There are a lot of crazy people out there. And some of them go to the gym. Yikes.

“A 5-year-old boy saw his grandma collapse on the floor and not get up… …so he took his 3-year-old little sister by the hand, ran down a gravel road looking for help, flagged down a truck, and SAVED HIS NANA’S LIFE!!! His name is Hudson Tenn, he’s FIVE years old, from Cottrellville Township, Michigan. This past summer, Hudson and his little sister Harper were home with their grandma, Terri. …then something went terribly wrong. Hudson: “Nana was shaking honestly and then she fell down and didn’t get back up.” She was unconscious. So, what did a 5-year-old do in that moment? Hudson went looking for Nana’s car keys… so he could DRIVE for help.

“I tried getting the keys to take her car but couldn’t find them so I ran down the street.” So he grabbed his little sister and headed out, the two of them walked down a gravel road, almost straight through the woods. That’s when neighbors Jason Markel and his son Colton spotted them and pulled over. Before Hudson flagged them down, he made sure his 3-year-old sister was SAFE first. Colton: “When he flagged us down he put his sister on the side of the road first!” FIVE. YEARS. OLD. The Markels called 911 right away and hudson climbed in the truck and directed them straight back to the house. Jason looked through the door and saw Terri lying on the floor, unconscious. Then St. Clair County Sheriff’s deputies arrived. One of the family dogs was crouched over Terri, protecting her, so deputies had to safely move the dog to another room before EMS could get to work. Terri was rushed to the hospital and I’m happy to say that today she is OKAY!!!

Jason says he doesn’t know what would have happened if those kids had to walk all the way to the main road. Terri knows exactly who to thank. “I think it was all God. He put the right people there at the right time.” And about her grandson? “He’s my hero, what 5-year-old would’ve thought to do what he did? And he did!” On Wednesday, township officials and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office presented Hudson with an AWARD FOR BRAVERY.”

JM: Kudos to this five-year-old boy for likely saving his Grandmother’s life. Hey, there’s good news in the world. You just have to dig to find it sometimes.
