I always thought the next “Indiana Jones” movie could be Indy searching for Noah’s Ark. He’s already found the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail in different movies. Noah’s Ark is another ancient artifact that would be worthy of a search by the fictional archeologist. Well, it appears that a team in Turkey thinks that they may have found the remains of the real Noah’s Ark.
JM: A team searching for the remains of Noah’s Ark in a boat-shaped formation in Turkey are testing samples from the 515-foot structure to see if any of them are wood, the group’s founder has exclusively told Newsweek.
The international group of archaeologists, geologists and soil scientists started drilling into the famous Durupınar Formation in order to collect its core samples last week, using a Gopher drone, an “underground robot built to go where a person cannot.”
They seem to think they’ve found something. I guess we’ll see. There sure is a lot of buzz about it in the last week or so.
JM: Fifth grader Ahmed Osman fell into the Coralville Lake Reservoir while on a school field trip last Tuesday. Borlaug Elementary School teacher Hannah Jorgensen, 24, jumped in after him. Both died. Ahmed and his classmates were on a five-day school trip at the MacBride Nature Recreation Area when the tragedy struck.
A five-day field trip? I’ve heard of a five-hour field trip before, but not five days.
What a sad story.
JM: What the article mentions, almost in passing, is that the Sugar Creek man, William Morrison, was the leader of a motorcycle gang. Was this a “Sons of Anarchy” type of hit job? Could be. It sure seems like premeditation.
JM: President Trump commented on the investigation and capture of these suspects, “It was an amazing job. We had them under investigation. They were looking to do big damage to our fort. And working with the British worked out great. We had them under view for a long time and we got them.”
Apparently, the suspects were released on bail, so the investigation is ongoing. If they were released, are they really much of a threat? It is strange that they would let them out.
JM: Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. <snicker> After his brewery closes, I’m sure they’ve got a room reserved for him in the psych ward.
JM: Kansas Democrat Senate candidate Adam Hamilton says that Johnson County, Kansas is “too beige.” “Johnson County beige” is a term to describe the cookie cutter homes in the area, many of which look the same and are painted the same beige color. Hamilton uses the term to say there are too many white people in the county. Interestingly, a few people went to his megachurch website and looked at the staff photos. According to the 2020 census, Johnson County is 76% white. Adam Hamilton’s church staff of 30 people is 90% white. Wow, he should look in the mirror. Pretty hypocritical of him. Church of the Resurrection is WAY too beige!
JM: President Trump attended the Tennessee/Texas college football game over the weekend. The flyover by Air Force One was pretty epic. That pilot buzzed the top of the stadium pretty close!
