The Kansas City Royals lost to the Chicago White Sox Friday night by the score of 22-1. It is not often that a baseball team loses a game by three touchdowns and three extra points, but we saw it last night. Thursday night, the Royals lost to the Tampa Bay Rays 13-2. They’ve been outscored 35-2 in their last two games. Ouch.
JM: At least both teams broke some records. Here are the current Central Division standings….

JM: Fountains Up? More like Fountains Down. On to something more positive.

JM: Everyone is becoming a U.S. Soccer fan. Amazing what winning can do. But the Turkeyie game disappointed in a big way.
JM: These U.S. soccer players are unabashedly patriotic. Standing, hands over hearts, singing the National Anthem before the game. Kneeling in prayer after the game. Such a positive contrast to the women’s soccer team.
JM: It was quite the buzzkill watching the United States lose on Thursday night. I know they rested most of the starters, including the starting goalie, but this was a completely different product than we saw in the first two games. I would have played the starters and kept the momentum going with a victory going into the knockout round. It may have been a bad decision in the long run, but it is what I would have done. The United States plays Bosnia on Wednesday night in the round of 32. Win, and they advance. Lose, and they’re out.
JM: Democrat sportswriters wake up every day trying to find the negative in the world. What a pathetic existence.
JM: What a great minute long answer by Kelsey Grammer. Speaking of America and saying “It’s worth loving” is the money quote.
JM: One of the major stories of this World Cup in Kansas City continues to be the shootings and violence. Pretty sad.
JM: I am not sure exactly what this means, but I’ll grab some popcorn and watch.
JM: This is a strange story. Apparently, competitive eater Joey Chestnut got into a small altercation at a local bar. He got into an argument with a couple of guys who recognized him, and he slapped one of them. It was close to closing time, and he walked home. He has no memory of the incident, as you can see in the video above. He pled guilty and received probation. I’m not condoning what he did, but if he were some random guy who did this, would anything have come of it? The victim called the cops and ratted him out, probably to get some money out of him. Pretty crazy.
JM: Anyone watching Dutton Ranch? It started with a bang and has been surprisingly good, even though the last couple of episodes haven’t been great. The previews for next week’s finale look pretty good, though. Glad they are making another season.
