Today was primary voting day in Kansas, Missouri, and a few other states. I stopped by my voting location on the way home from work. I handed my driver’s license to the poll worker. She looked like a typical liberal woman. She loudly and smarmily said, “You will be voting on the REPUBLICAN ballot, correct?” I said “Yes,” and she handed me my paper ballot to take to the voting machine. I don’t know why she had such an attitude, but whatever.
Aaron Rodgers took a victory lap on Monday during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN….
JM: Bravo, Aaron Rodgers. Why do I still care about this? Because I lived through the lies of Covid. I never missed a day of work, luckily. I never got sick. The people I encountered at work and at my client sites during the shutdown never got sick. Politicians and the mainstream news networks said wearing masks worked. That was a lie. They said you couldn’t transmit Covid if you got the shot. Another lie. They said you couldn’t get Covid if you had the shot. Yet another lie. I knew these were lies, based on my real-world experience. Eventually I knew people who got sick. Luckily, none of them got sick enough that they died. I watched or heard lies on the news every day. Those same news networks attacked people like Aaron Rodgers with a fury. He was right. They were wrong. I have too many people to count that owe me apologies that I’ll never get. All I was telling them was my life experience during COVID, which was vastly different from what the news was telling you while quarantined. Did they knowingly lie to everyone, or did they not know and somehow thought they were right based on bad information? It’s a question I ask myself every day. Never trust the news. Never.
Rodgers repeatedly called Anthony Fauci a “coward” and a “criminal.” That is how I will always remember him.
JM: The Marco Rubio memes are great, but I am still not buying that the look on his face is because the couch is uncomfortable. I think it is because he would rather be anywhere else than where he was sitting at that moment.
JM: This is probably the exact answer that I would give to that question. He’s got my vote in 2028. Ha, ha.
JM: I haven’t had a campfire experience quite this bad, but one time when I was a young child, my Mom and Dad took us to a campground in Missouri, and we all got chigger bites all over our bodies. It was excruciating pain and itching. That’s when I (eventually) learned to use clear fingernail polish on the bites. That’s the only “cure” I am aware of. Nothing else seemed to work.
Speaking of spiders, have you seen the new Spider-Man movie yet?
JM: Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame are the best two superhero movies I have ever seen. Every superhero movie I have seen before or since then has paled in comparison. I even stopped going to see them for a while, but I’ve always been a Spider-Man fan, so we went and saw “Spider-Man Brand New Day” on Sunday. It was great! Gave me hope that Hollywood can still make an enjoyable superhero movie. Tom Holland is fantastic as Spider-Man. I’d give him an Academy Award if I could. He can make you laugh and cry, sometimes in the same scene. He doesn’t get enough credit for playing that role.
I didn’t expect “Brand New Day” to do better than “Endgame” did. The theatre was busier than I have seen it in a long time. Since way before the pandemic. Maybe movies are finally coming back. If Hollywood keeps making movies like that, they will definitely be back.
