From The Couch – “This Is The Autopen. It’s Biden.”

President Trump gave President Xi of China a tour of the White House grounds today, including the new helipad and the wall of Presidential portraits, the highlight of which was Trump showing off the portrait of Biden’s autopen.

That is not the only news of the day, but probably the funniest. I found a bunch of other interesting stuff today. Enjoy…

JM: Trump likes showing off the autopen portrait, and President Xi got a kick out of it and even laughed out loud! It seems like these two get along pretty well and may share the same sense of humor.

JM: Turning Point USA is still on college campuses doing events, and crazy people are still showing up to harass them. This time is was a person wearing a Charlie Kirk “Freedom” white t-shirt covered with red paint to illustrate Kirk’s assassination and being covered in blood. Sounds like a really swell lunatic. The University of Missouri responded that they would investigate this person and they found that it is not a student at MU.

JM: The people running these events should be very careful. At the very least, there are people attending who don’t mind if they end up dead. At the very worst, another shooting could happen.

JM: What a strange story from Stanford. Could they not find any real black females on campus to snap a picture of? Guess not. Instead, someone decided they needed more diversity in their advertisement and had an AI program replace the white, male student on the right with a black female wearing a Stanford sweatshirt. It’s probably not a big deal to anyone except the guy that was removed from the photo. Just kind of odd that they did it.

JM: I suppose I would be “baffled,” two if I had my identity and gender changed like that. Maybe they just thought he was too ugly to represent Stanford. Ha, ha.

JM: I don’t really trust any of these theme park rides since what happened at the Schlitterbahn in Kansas City. Some of the injuries reported from the X2 sound horrifying…

“Pamela Guillen and her family visited the park in July for her daughter’s 16th birthday and decided to ride the X2 roller coaster. When the ride stopped, her daughter saw her “sitting with a vacant stare and her mouth open,” confused and unable to exit the ride. Shortly after she got out, the previously healthy 39-year-old collapsed and was taken to a hospital, where she underwent emergency brain surgery, according to the lawsuit.”

“Just five days later, 25-year-old Naomi Greer-Wilkinson boarded the ride with her siblings. She also collapsed shortly after the ride ended and was taken to a hospital, where she was found to have massive brain bleeding inside the skull that required emergency brain surgery. She remains in a vegetative state in the hospital, unable to speak or move and dependent on a ventilator. Her family filed the lawsuit on her behalf.”

“Another one of his clients, Michael Wilk, visited the park with his daughter and grandchildren in February. Immediately after going on the ride, he felt stabbing pain in his head, dizziness and had difficulty walking, the lawsuit states.

While he didn’t seek medical attention immediately, his cognitive function quickly declined in the following weeks as he tried to return to his job as an insurance defense attorney. An MRI scan a few months later showed massive bleeding and swelling inside his skull, requiring multiple surgeries to relieve the pressure on his brain. He said he continues to suffer debilitating headaches, confusion, dizziness, memory loss, and personality changes, and can no longer practice law.”

“The new lawsuits follow a settlement for wrongful death in the case of Christopher Hawley, a 22-year-old who died the day after he rode X2 and was rushed to the hospital after the ride with severe brain bleeding. The medical examiner’s office said his death was from “blunt head trauma.”

Yikes! My first thought after reading all of that was that I sure hope the ride isn’t still operating. Luckily, it is not. X2 has been closed since July 12 while the State of California investigates yet another incident with reported injury on the ride. I would suggest they take it down for good. That’s a death trap.

JM: This is a strange fine levied by the NFL. First of all, Juszczyk’s nickname is “Juice.” He wasn’t doing a beer drinking imitation. It was a juice drinking imitation. Secondly, I bet after he did this, the game went to commercial and likely showed a beer commercial. I bet there are also beer advertisements and placards all over that stadium. Third, why $14,926? Apparently, the $14,926 amount is the league’s standard fine for a first unsportsmanlike conduct offense. It started as a $10,000 fine and they adjust it for inflation every year. Alrighty then. Juszczyk is appealing the fine, as he should. The 10-time Pro Bowler said, “I don’t even drink beer.”

JM: Wow, that was close. Check out the video below…

JM: I’ve never seen a lightning strike that close before. That truck driver is darn lucky.
