I wondered if I should start with President Trump welcoming President Xi of China at Joint Base Andrews or the clip of Judge Judy that I heard today. Judge Judy won the battle to become the lede, but just barely.
JM: Judge Judy sounds like my Dad, Grandpa, and all of their friends. I’ve heard similar sentiments like this over the years, but it is kind of refreshing to hear a celebrity like Judge Judy unabashedly say it. Kudos.
JM: President Trump never stops moving, and after speaking at the United Nations yesterday, he welcomed China President Xi to the United States today for a summit meeting tomorrow. Just like his visit with Russian President Vladmir Putin, Trump rolled out the red carpet and ordered a military flyover that startled both men. Trump turned and smiled as it happened.

JM: This woman baked her infant daughter to death! She pled down from a murder charge to “endangering the welfare of a child resulting in death.” She received a 13-year sentence and gets credit for time served, meaning she will be out of jail in just 11 years. Kansas City prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said at the time of the arrest, “We trust the criminal justice system to respond appropriately to these awful circumstances.” So much for that. There is something seriously wrong with our criminal justice system.
JM: Another strange story from the Kansas City area. This one from Salina. A Man was roller blading across the United States and was hit by a car and killed by an 82-year-old woman. She thought she hit something and turned around but did not see the man lying in the ditch. She went home and noticed her vehicle was damaged and called a friend and they returned to the scene and didn’t find anything. What a strange story that brings up the question once again..should there be a maximum age that you should be allowed to drive a car? This woman obviously lacks the awareness to be out driving around town. No word yet on if the woman will be charged, as it seems to be an honest mistake. At the very least they need to take her license away.
