“Go jump off a bridge” is what Abigail Gardner, communications director for Allegheny County (Pennsylvania) Executive Sara Innamorato, said in a video posted to social media to Colin Dunlap, a local radio show host on KDKA (Pittsburgh), after he criticized the county’s emergency response to dangerous air quality alerts regarding smoke from the Canadian wildfires as overblown.
Here is the video that Ms. Gardner posted…
JM: According to The Center Square, her response came after Dunlap shared a black-and-white photo of two men smoking on a hazy street corner. In the social media post, he said, “I find the pandemonium about some smoky conditions in Western Pennsylvania for like 26 hours way over the top. Especially when you consider this: some of our grandparents lived this every single day – and smoked a pack a day on top of it.”
The state Department of Environmental Protection declared a “Code Red” air quality alert on Thursday, followed by a “Code Orange” on Friday. This, after dense smoke from Canadian wildfires blanketed Pennsylvania and parts of the Midwest and Northeast.
The county itself declared a “Code Purple” before bumping the level to the highest alert level, Code Maroon, on Thursday afternoon. Many events were canceled and outdoor parks were closed amid the emergency conditions.
Gardner was placed on administrative leave and apologized, saying, “I made a tasteless comment out of frustration, and I apologize for my lapse in judgment. Suicide should not be a topic that is joked about or used to insult others. My comments were out of line, and I especially apologize to the employees of Allegheny County that I did not hold myself to a higher standard while representing the county.”
I tend to agree with Dunlap that the orders were probably much ado about nothing. After COVID, I think a lot of us are sick of overreaching government officials telling us what to do. This is also another example of a liberal government official wishing death on someone who disagrees with them. That seems to be an epidemic on the Democrat side of the aisle. Would a Republican or Conservative tell a Democrat or Liberal to commit suicide? Nope.
JM: Some things never change. These leftist headline writers try to deceive people instead of telling the truth.
JM: Are you surprised to see that most of the states that Kamala Harris won in 2024 do not require photo ID to submit a vote? Me, either.
JM: Wait, I thought that this was a fairy tale. Now CNN is admitting that this is actually happening? Do tell!

JM: It looks like the numbers are actually much higher than what CNN is reporting.
JM: The New York Times went from reporting it as a “problem that doesn’t exist” to being forced to change its tune and report fraud in New Jersey in 2024.
JM: You can’t make this stuff up.
JM: Torres is the guy who scored the game-winning goal in the World Cup final.
JM: How can I join this “NILF” population and still live comfortably? Inquiring minds want to know.
JM: Congratulations to Salvy on tying George Brett’s club record for career home runs. A fan jumped in the fountain to retrieve the ball and was arrested at the stadium. Salvy pleaded for the police to release him…
JM: I agree. Give the guy a break.
