From The Couch – 96-Year-Old Resident Tells Nursing Home To Buzz Off

I thought nursing home parties were a fictional creation of television shows like Landman. Apparently not….

JM: This woman is feisty! She posted a video reading the letter from nursing home management asking her to cease with the parties by saying, “I can’t help it. I love to party! You can’t stop me!” Oh, and how do you like her shirt?

JM: The Sophie Cunningham point has gone viral, and it has become one of the most popular memes out there right now. During the fourth quarter of a WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and the Phoenix Mercury, a heated exchange occurred between the Fever’s Caitlin Clark and the Mercury’s DeWanna Bonner. Clark was assessed a technical foul for clapping after the play, but Bonner had not yet received one. After the incident, Cunningham approached the referees, questioning why Bonner hadn’t been penalized. She began pointing at Bonner while speaking to officials, asking why only Clark got the tech..

Bonner reportedly told her, “Don’t you point at me!” Cunningham said she didn’t want to escalate, but instead of stopping, she continued pointing silently, following Bonner around the court and maintaining eye contact. The gesture lasted more than 20 seconds and was captured from multiple angles. Here is Sophie’s version of events.

JM: This was pretty funny, but is the WNBA ever going to make news for plays on the court? I mean, other than players brawling and screaming at each other?

JM: The new “Supergirl” movie is making the news for all the wrong reasons. I will give Ms. Alcock the benefit of the doubt. It sounds like the reporter specifically asked her about Pride month. I have no idea what that has to do with a Supergirl movie, but she tried to placate the interviewer with her answer. That being said, she should have just kept her mouth shut. The movie was likely to fail anyway, but now all the news headlines insinuate that they made a movie about a bisexual Supergirl. Not gonna sell many tickets that way. Good grief.

JM: This video gave me anxiety. Holy smokes. I feel that this woman is lucky to be alive right now. Kudos to her dog, who probably helped save her.
