Number five on the list of top barbershop chorus contest performances of all-time is The Vocal Majority from Dallas, Texas, at the International Barbershop Harmony Society convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 2nd, 2010.
The VM scored 2,913 points, a 97.1 average. They scored one more point than they did in their 2018 championship performance, but they didn’t win the gold this year. They finished second to The Westminster Chorus. They sang “If I Ruled The World” and “When The Midnight Choo Choo Leaves For Alabam’.”
Justin Miller, the director of gold medal winners Westminster Chorus, added a comment to the YouTube video of the performance of “When The Midnight Choo Choo Leaves For Alabam’.”….

Here is the performance of “If I Ruled The World.”
And here is “”When The Midnight Choo Choo Leaves For Alabam’.”…
The total score of both of these songs is the highest score the Vocal Majority ever received at International competition. This outstanding chorus has won 13 gold medals over the years and their highest score of all-time came when they finished in second place. Crazy!
