Today marks the 239th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution, signed on this day in 1787.
JM: Were you aware that “Constitution Day” was a thing? I did, but I don’t think anyone celebrates it much. Guess I’ll throw back a beer to celebrate!
JM: Another crazy liberal threatens to kill a Conservative. Check out the fun facts about this dude:
- Korby Allen Strube, 29, was arrested recently by Florida police for allegedly posting a spree of vile antisemitic threats on X, including a menacing countdown to Yom Kippur and insinuations something would happen to Shapiro on the Jewish holiday.
- “I’m going to kill be Shapiro and hes not gonna be a-live,” read a July 31 post (I guess spelling isn’t his thing)
- “I’ll kill you just the same. Go meet Jesus. 51 days left,” read another. “Die with Jesus … I’ll kill you just the same I guess. 52 days.”
- Officials quickly tracked the X account to an address near Topeka, where Strube was found living with his parents. (You don’t say?)
- Strube owned up to making the posts, police alleged, before launching a disturbed tale about government spies who were sending him messages through song lyrics and presidential addresses.
- Despite the alarming statements, Strube’s parents insisted he had no history of mental illness, according to police. They also showed police the family gun safe, and said their son had no access to it. (Mmm Hmm.)
- Strube — a former IT professional who police said had been unemployed and living with his parents the last two years — was arrested by Florida police and faces nearly a dozen charges of making threats to kill or cause bodily harm.
I don’t blame the parents here. I blame the city of Topeka. Said only a little bit in jest.
