I try really hard to find positive stories in the news to feature here, but some days it is really hard. Most of what I found today qualifies under the category of “weird news,” but there is something at the end that may make you smile. Let’s get into it…
JM: This would normally be a top news story, but there have been so many news stories like this since Donald Trump became President, that I heard almost nothing about this on mainstream media today. In fact, the story isn’t even featured on the home page of FoxNews. Guess a guy trying to assassinate the President of the United States isn’t even newsworthy anymore. Yikes.
JM: This crazy lady, Francesca Hong, may be the next Governor of Wisconsin. I guess calling for the assassination of President Trump is just par for the course now.
JM: This crazy guy, Kirill Basin, is running for Congress in Hawaii as a Democrat. He was harassing beachgoers. When asked to turn his music down, he threw a fit and started an altercation.with a large, tattooed man, and tried to swing a beach chair at him. But before he could finish his swing, the man threw a powerful right-hand punch, making contact with Basin’s face, knocking him out. Witnesses at the scene allege Basin told beachgoers he had a gun and pulled a knife on the man afterward. The congressional candidate allegedly tossed the knife in the water, but police recovered it and arrested Basin for two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening. His bail has been set at $1 million.
Assuming he gets out of jail, he’s got my vote! How about you? 🙂
JM: I believe I have said that all the WNBA is good for is making news off the court, not on it. This is just another (funny) example.
JM: I first heard of Perez Hilton when he was on The Apprentice as a guest “businessman” for one episode. I guess he wrote a popular celebrity blog at some point. I never really followed him, but I have heard his name from time to time. Last night, he livestreamed himself on TikTok cutting himself with a large knife covered in blood. The video is out there, but I wouldn’t bother searching for it and watching it. All I could take was five seconds before shutting it off. So that’s where we are as the human race now? Livestreaming suicide and masochism? At least the cops got to him in time and threw him in the mental ward where he belongs.
JM: This coyote looks pretty cute until you get him out of there and he bites you or attacks you. Luckily, It didn’t look like that happened in this case. Kudos to the rescuers.
