“Things happen sometimes” is what Andy Reid had to say regarding the incident with Eric Bieniemy, his offensive coordinator, whose son shot Eric’s wife on Sunday evening. Here is his full statement….
JM: Andy Reid is normally an emotionless guy, but his statement sounded like he was reading the weekly injury report instead of talking about a tragedy that his friend just went through. Although I’m not surprised. Reid is the same guy who has had his own family tragedies and has kept right on coaching as if nothing happened. Reid’s son Garrett Reid, died of a heroin overdose in 2012, and his other son Britt Reid was sentenced to three years in jail after a 2021 car crash. “Things happen sometimes” is a very strange way to address what happened, but come to think of it, it is business as usual for the Kansas City Chiefs.

JM: Am I surprised that someone who would celebrate the assassination of Charlie Kirk just got sent to prison for child porn? No, I am not.
JM: Gee, what could possibly go wrong here? Did he forget that Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter accident? Are there no accommodations in Philadelphia nice enough for this guy? This is not a good look for LeBron.

JM: I encountered a rattlesnake one time on a farm in western Kansas. I walked into the backyard, and it was sitting on top of their fire pit and hissed loudly at me. It was much bigger than this one. I froze for a second and ran around to the front yard! I’m not sure what I would do if this snake crawled up on my porch. Run for the hills, I guess!
