My interest in politics has always been intense. I’ve always loved history, and unlike many people, I loved Government classes in high school and college. I suppose that is why political events that happen in the U.S. bother me so much, especially now.
I don’t care if you hate President Donald Trump, as long as the reasons are based in truth and reality. That is your right. Yesterday, my cousin’s wife posted something on Facebook about the crazy leftist brewery owner in Wisconsin who wishes death upon Trump and anyone who voted for him. It is hard to bite my tongue, but I have so far on that thread. Every Democrat, to a person that I’ve seen, commented on her post something untrue about Donald Trump that they totally believe and, to them, justifies violence against him. You name the lie, and they brought it up. None of them said violence against Trump is wrong. Not one.
There is no reasoning with people like this. Trying to have a discussion is a waste of time. The Charles Manson murders referenced in the above meme were before my time, but trying to reason with Democrats is probably the same thing as trying to tell one of the Manson followers that they shouldn’t kill someone, no matter what, or telling them that what they believe about the people they killed is not true. They’d never listen. These Democrats won’t listen, either. They live in a bubble of Donald Trump and Republican/Conservative hate, and they consume and believe all of the information they are shown by social media algorithms and their left-wing media sources.
The difference between Trump and other Republican Presidents and politicians is that he fights back and doesn’t take it from the Democrats and the media. George W. Bush sat and took it. Dick Cheney sat and took it. Mitt Romney took it. Newt Gingrich took it. Trump doesn’t. It drives them nuts because they have never witnessed someone on the other side who fights back. Until now. They hated Bush and Cheney with the same passion. They only like Republicans (like John McCain) when they’re dead.
There are things Trump says and does that I don’t like, but I brush most of them off and move on with my day. The positives far outweigh the negatives. He is driving these Democrats insane daily. I’ve lost track of the things Trump has said that have been taken out of context, that have caused outrage from the left.
The funny thing is that Democrats will say, “the Trumpists are a cult!” Yeah, right. Thanks for trying to insult my intelligence. It doesn’t work.
I really wish there was something we could do about this, but I don’t think there is. I should probably just stay off social media, but it’s hard to let them get away with saying the things that they do.
