From The Couch – Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction

“Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction” is a quote attributed to Ronald Reagan. It means we should be aware and wary of entities out there that would like to suppress and take away our freedoms. Today, I will focus on two entities: the news media and a sports organization, the WNBA, that are trying to suppress individuals’ First Amendment rights. Here are some examples that may just make your blood boil.

JM: You have to be quite a monster to go out of your way to verbally assault two 16-year-old girls who purchased tickets to your team’s basketball game for wearing “XX/XY” t-shirts in support of Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham. Click on the video and listen to their story. This co-owner of the Seattle Storm, Celeste Keaton, is crazy. At least the league took action against her, suspending her for five games…

JM: I am not sure what that suspension will accomplish. Unfortunately, probably nothing.

That wasn’t the only bad press that the WNBA received over the weekend…

JM: If you watch the replay of the play in question, Sophie Cunningham got elbowed in the face and, after a replay review, they called a foul on HER! This is the latest in a string of ridiculous incidents of racist, African-American WNBA players taking cheap shots at white players Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark. On top of that, Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeves wore a “Trans Kids Belong” t-shirt throughout the game. Trans kids belong where? In the WNBA? I don’t think you want men to start competing in that league. Radio talk show host Clay Travis responded to this ridiculousness in a clever way…

JM: I believe Clay would put up the 10 million, but the WNBA would never accept this challenge because they know their team would get humiliated against the boys. Their silence says it all.

Despite all the bad press, there was some good news to come out of the WNBA recently. Someone caught a video of Sophie Cunningham greeting a supporter after a recent game…

JM: If the WNBA were full of Sophie Cunninghams, people might actually watch the product. Unfortunately, the only news this league makes has nothing to do with the product on the floor, but controversy off of it. Pretty pathetic.

Another entity that has tried to suppress free speech and differing points of view for a long time is the left-wing propaganda mouthpiece, CNN. They proved it once again over the weekend when host Dana Bash tried to debate HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. on her Sunday show…

JM: I don’t understand why these Democrat “reporters” on CNN try to debate and constantly interrupt their guests when they are supposed to be doing an interview. Why invite Kennedy on if you’re not going to let him answer any questions by continually interrupting him? I suppose Dana Bash is used to interviewing people who share her worldview, and when challenged, she doesn’t know how to react. This exchange got more heated as it went on…

JM: Do you notice she didn’t ask a question? She made a statement as one might try to do during a debate and tried to quickly change the subject! Kennedy didn’t let her get away with it. He told her, “You are saying nonsense!” He asked her to show him the study she is referencing, and she couldn’t do it. Because it doesn’t exist, and Kennedy knows it. Bash looked really bad here, but that is nothing new.

JM: So, it is her job to lie? Guess she just admitted it!

JM: Kennedy is right, but I don’t think he ever got through to this compulsive liar, Dana Bash. I could probably do a daily column chronicling her many lies. She is nothing but a left-wing propaganda mouthpiece.

Speaking of left-wing propaganda mouthpieces, Chris Cuomo, who USED to be on CNN, got caught in a lie live on the PBD Podcast.

JM: Caught in a lie, has no shame about it, and says he wasn’t lying. Unbelievable.

JM: This is a good reminder of the kind of misinformation that CNN peddles all the time. Joe Rogan still brings it up on his podcast all the time.

If the left isn’t trying to suppress free speech, they are trying to get people on the right killed. Check this out…

JM: I have obviously never been to this store, nor will I ever go to that store. Imagine if a Conservative had a store like this. Do you think they would stoop to the level of selling items promoting the assassination of a Democrat? That’s a rhetorical question. Of course they wouldn’t.

This column was too heavy, but I found something funny to end with….

JM: Just when you think you’ve seen it all! Five rabbits with those ups might be able to beat the WNBA champions! I wouldn’t wager 10 million on it though.
