From The Couch – Semi Truck Drivers Still Causing Havoc – A Personal Story

I work for a food and vending company, and this morning I traveled to one of my work accounts. I was parked at the dock and getting ready to leave, and saw that a semi had blocked me in. He was parked awkwardly and cockeyed, blocking both the entrance to the dock area and the dock itself. This is a busy manufacturing plant that has lots of semis coming and going. One of the forklift drivers noticed it, stopped, and, pointing to the semi, said, “This guy has no clue. He doesn’t even realize he has to let you out so he can have the dock. None of these sons of bitches speak English anymore, and they have no clue how to drive a big rig.”

I got in my truck and slowly pulled out of the dock, trying to avoid him while he was moving to get out of my way. The driver was about 30 years old, and there was a passenger in the seat next to him. Both were foreign, but I couldn’t tell which nationality.

I was finally able to get past him and get out, but this latest incident got me thinking about the ongoing issue regarding foreign and illegal semi-truck drivers in the United States. I did a quick search when I got home, and it appears that 22 states are suing the Department of Transportation to block them from getting the state DMV files…

JM: This makes no sense to me. We need to make sure that the drivers on our roads, especially those driving big rigs, speak English, can read the signs, and have passed a DOT test. This is obviously a huge issue to my client, as it likely is at businesses across the country. Good grief.

JM: This 100-year old male driver blew right through a stop sign and didn’t have his seatbelt on. A vehicle struck him and killed him. The driver of this vehicle was not injured. Should a 100-year-old person be driving a car and putting people in danger? Probably not.

JM: Seven people were killed in the crash. The helicopter was taking the group on a safari in Kenya. It seems that something tragic like this happens fairly often with helicopters. I would be nervous to get on one, that’s for sure.

JM: Initially, I saw a video of this fight taken from a distance. It is even scarier seeing it up close. Does it seem that brawls like this are happening more often, or are we seeing them more because people get video on their phones? And why are people trying to get video instead of trying to break it up? One guy was getting pummeled by four guys at one time! Sheesh.

JM: Nike stock has dropped 76.70% in five years. Yikes. They reap what they sowed, though. Go woke, go broke.

JM: Have you followed this story in Alaska regarding the election for U.S. Senate? The Democrat, Mary Peltola, and the Republican, Dan Sullivan, were running an almost neck and neck race. The primary had many candidates, and they use rank choice voting. The top four finishers advance to the election in November. Democrats found a person named Dan Sullivan, registered him as a Republican, and entered him in the race, hoping he would steal votes from the other Dan Sullivan, thereby handing the election to the Democrat, Mary Peltola. Dirty politics for sure, but seeing Democrats do this doesn’t surprise me whatsoever.

JM: Sure, let’s lower our standards to get more kids to graduate instead of doing a better job teaching to ensure more kids graduate. What is wrong with the education system in this country? Then again, it IS Oregon.

JM: This is a sick story. I didn’t know there was a black market for body parts. Here is a sampling of some of the sickos that were this guy’s biggest customers…

JM: Yikes.

JM: Were you aware of this story? The mainstream press is sure good at ignoring these assassination attempts, especially those done by transgender people.

JM: I’d be scared to death to get buzzed by a jet like that. The lady in red hitting the ground and disappearing in the video is pretty funny, but the sunglasses flying is my favorite part. 🙂
