Saturday showed us examples of the best, and worst, of America. Today is Flag Day, and the United States Air Force posted a cool picture of the American flag that I hadn’t seen before….
JM: Not only is it Flag Day, but it is President Trump’s 80th birthday. Interesting that someone born on this day eventually became President of the United States. Show me a picture displaying your flag, and I’ll include it in a future column!
JM: Congratulations to the New York Knicks. Some Knicks fans rejoiced, but many took the opportunity to riot.
JM: “Hey, our team won! Let’s go destroy a school bus!” Knicks fans didn’t stop there. They later set the bus on fire….
JM: I did not watch the game last night, but when I got up this morning and scrolled my news feed, the first posts I saw were about the riots and unruly citizens in the streets. Didn’t see much about the game. The riots were the story when winning a championship should have been.
JM: The contrast between high taxes in blue states versus low taxes in red states is starting to become a common theme that we hear from professional athletes. I wonder how much money Brunson is losing by playing in New York instead of Texas or Florida?
JM: Freddy is a German citizen who traveled to the United States for the World Cup. His account on X has become a must-follow. He and a couple of buddies have documented their journey. Want to see the best of America? Freddy is doing a great job highlighting it. JJ Watt is hooking them up with a hotel room and a bunch of gear while they are in Houston. That is one example of the best of America. Freddy and his buddies have been amazed by trips to Buc-ees, Bass Pro Shops, Raising Cane’s chicken, and many other stops along the way. It is neat to see his perspective on things that we take for granted every day. Check out his X feed when you get a chance.
JM: And here we have another example of the worst of America. I see road rage incidents like this a couple of times a week. I haven’t seen people get out of their cars on the highway as this guy did, but I often see two aggressive drivers racing and cutting each other off at high speeds on the highway. Crazy times we are living in.
JM: I still think it is crazy that they are holding a UFC event on the lawn of the White House. That being said, I will be watching, which I guess is the whole point.
