From The Couch – Unruly Beggars Welcome World Cup Visitors

This morning, I exited the highway in downtown Kansas City, and at the stoplight at the bottom of the hill, there was a car in front of me stopped at the red light. The beggar at the corner was standing right at their door, screaming and yelling and pointing at them. The person in the car had their window up, waiting for the light to turn green. Welcome to Kansas City, World Cup visitors! Unfortunately, this is a scene that I see quite often in and around the downtown Kansas City area. Pretty sad.

JM: Why did Lee’s Summit decide to cancel this annual event after over 40 consecutive years of holding it? Because they couldn’t control a bunch of unruly teenagers? How about you don’t give in to the thugs and criminals and figure out how to hold a safe event? I am not sure what the answer is, but canceling future events seems a bit extreme.

JM: Graham Platner easily won the Democrat primary in Maine and will face off against Republican Senator Susan Collins this fall. A reporter on the news was interviewing Platner voters on the street, and when asked about Platner’s Nazi tattoo, one lady said: “well, nobody’s perfect.” Unreal. What a bunch of hypocrites.

JM: The Brendan Sorsby story isn’t going away. This sarcastic response from an anonymous Big 12 coach was pretty funny.

JM: Texas Tech has been under a LOT of heat because of the Sorsby situation. So much so that Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt, a K-State football graduate, typed up this letter and released it today. Look, Texas Tech could make this all go away if they’d kick the kid off the team for good. Schools used to do that, you know. That way, they would keep whatever little integrity they have left. Instead, it looks like they’re going to let him play.

JM: Does it surprise you that the establishment in California paid homeless people to vote for Democrats? Me, either.

JM: Time magazine named Elle Duncan as one of the 100 most influential people in sports. I have followed sports closely my entire life, and I have never heard of this person. Did they have a quota requiring a black woman on the list? That’s all I can figure. Also, I was unaware that Time magazine is still a thing. Who knew?

JM: This is something the mainstream media will never show you. Look at how thrilled these workers are to meet President Trump. They are all smiles. This is how most people feel about him, but you’d never know it if all you do is follow left-wing media sites and news channels.

JM: What in the world? This guy caught a shark? And then let it go? This is another story I wouldn’t believe if it wasn’t on video!
